About Me:

I am an Eastern Orthodox Christian who is a conservative. I believe that in order for our country to heal, the many wounded people within it need to heal. I hope that this will help some of those people.
My story: I was abused as a child and as a result and after foster homes, group homes and two orphanage, I had lived for a while as a wild child in the land of the United States of America, trying without success to become a hippie. But once I became re-oriented to Christ, my healing journey began, and I would like to share some of the things that have helped me to have some growth in my walk with Christ and my ability to begin to participate in the healing of my soul. I’ve been working on this planner for about 10 years out of a desire to one day be able to help other women and men who have been traumatized in childhood, to help them not to be enslaved by that trauma in their adult lives, to have tools that speak their particular language, in order to help them become free of the past. But this was all about me too…I was looking for tools I couldn’t find anywhere else to help me in my healing process.
I’m going to assume that as for me, it will be or has been difficult for you to maintain a habit of going to Church. I want to exhort you all who are embarking on this path, to continue to go to Church. To make it a practice. This is a great retraining. This planner was created to work in the context of having an active Church life, participating in the sacraments and cycles of the Church. We often run away from the trials of our lives. Sometimes the trials are in the Church. If you are generally safe-Stay. Just stay for a little while and leave early if you must, so that you can come back. You will receive grace from God just for that effort. …I did that whenever it was hard because my wounds would not let me be around people. God is always waiting for you in the Church, and then at home, on your knees…The task of the Church is to teach us to love ourselves, to love others, and to love God. Find your own way to be there, and God will meet you where you are at, and compel you to grow in Christ. As a priest once told me: “God accepts you as you are, but he doesn’t want you to stay that way.”
Thank you for taking a chance on yourself with The Secret Life of Change Planner. May God continue to Guide and Bless your small steps.
