How to Prioritize:


Some people who struggle with Executive Functioning Skills are Great planners. I myself remember making plans on how to get some stability in my life; based on parameters that were not solid, or based on steps that didn't have conditions in place to be successful.


For example: Trying to do everything at once, or trying to do tasks that trigger dysregulation. The Eisenhower method is a way to prioritize and identify tasks that dovetail well with your skill set, with conditions and circumstances as they are and others that can be done with helpers you delegate to.


A Peer Support Specialist can help you identify risk areas of planning and prioritizing, and develop executive function skills that can go awry because of emotional trauma.


The Eisenhower Method. President Dwight D. Eisenhower came up with a method to prioritize his tasks. His task prioritization schema was urgent, not urgent, important or not important. Here is a schematic I’ve tweaked to coincide with specific situations that people who struggle with executive dysfunctioning skills due to trauma they may have.

·         Went to West Point because of a lack of funds,

·         Graduate of West Point in 1915
